Standish Congregational Church
WELCOME TO STANDISH CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH
We're glad you came!
About Us
Whoever you are, wherever you are on life's journey--you are welcome to join us in worship, spiritual growth, community service, and joyful fellowship!
On Sunday mornings we sing and pray together, hear scripture read and interpreted, and enjoy fellowship. Our services actively involve all ages.
We have Sunday School for children and youth (through 8th grade) on Sunday mornings, and a biweekly Bible study group for adults.
We reach beyond the walls of our church into the community and into the world through missions projects such as monthly meals free and open to the public, and fundraisers such as the annual Village Square Fair in November, and our Standish Spectacular Pancake Breakfast.
Come and see what we are all about!

Worship Service
Standish Congregational Church gathers for Sunday worship services at 9:30 a.m. and for special evening services on Maundy Thursday, Longest Night, and Christmas Eve. Worship services include inspirational music and thoughtful, scriptually based meditations (sermons). No matter who you are, no matter where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here! Please click the 'more info' button below to learn what a typical service at Standish Congregational Church is like.
Christian Education
Standish Congregational Church offers many opportunities to people of all ages to grow spiritually and to be formed in Christian discipleship. Children ages 4-14 enjoy a structured Sunday School while the adults are in church. For many years we have followed the curriculum published by The Whole People of God. Our team of Sunday School teachers is led by our Director of Christian Education, Mary Lou Tracy. For adults we offer a biweekly Bible Study (Sept.-May) led by Rev. Cynthia Biggar, and other discussion groups from time to time. We hope you'll join us!
Fellowship
Our church is dedicated to bringing people together to join in fellowship with one another as we walk our faith journeys. In addition to the snacks and coffee offered in fellowship after church service, we offer men's fellowship, women's fellowship, and youth group to give members and friends of our church the opportunity to discuss and practice their faith--and enjoy one another's company-- outside of our Sunday service.
Music Ministry
Music is integral to our worship experience. The congregation sings hymns and responses throughout the service accompanied by piano, organ and/or guitar. Our SCC Choir is intergenerational, including youth as well as adults. During the summer, our youth choir (1st-12th grades) sings.
